maid of honour: julia walker
I met Ale in kindergarten at International School Nido de Aguilas in Santiago, Chile. Despite her initial rejection when I asked her to be my friend, we quickly became inseparable, spending many days together creating impossible recipes and testing out science experiments. Even though the results weren't always what we expected, the outcome was always the same, explosive laughter and a serious case of laughingitis. As a byproduct we also discovered the formula for a long lasting friendship! Today I am honored to be Ale's Maid of Honor on this special occasion and very excited to finally visit her in London!

Meeting Adam in September 2006 was the start of a very fast journey to gaining weight and losing my hair. I'm not sure what his excuse is, because he was fat and bald when I found him. We made friends within a few hours and this has led to a lifetime friendship whether its in the same city seeing each other every day after uni, spending days off together, or once we qualified across continents and grateful to WhatsApp to keep us connected. We have had countless censored memories over the past 13 years, and I am sure you all want to know the juicy gossip so find me at his wedding for me to dish out the details. Preferably after they tie the knot, before Ale changes her mind. From running a business together, to shaving our heads one evening for no reason, to the Monday night Nandos tradition, living together for five years never had a boring moment. Being his best man, by default, due to lack of friends, is a true honour and privilege, he said if I do a good job this time I can be best man at his next wedding too!

The best relationships seem to start in Northampton DGH as Ale and Adam will attest too.
Ale and I met in Northampton at work in 2011. Our friend Farai and I were struggling with a complex case all day and when Ale came on shift, we were more than grateful to handover. Poor Ale, it was a night to remember! For Farai and I, we still can’t forget the relief of seeing Ale arrive for her night shift and scarpering home ourselves :-)
Since then, there have been daily Skype calls from NZ, countless cardiology trips abroad and around the country and a night-time visit for excruciating toothache with a dodgy foreign-labelled drug that knocked me out the next day. Oh, and a half marathon we were both too busy to train for!
When Ale spoke of meeting Adam, who had been my saviour during nights on call at LRI, I could see this was the start of something special. Looking forward to joining you both on your big day!

I met Adam for the first time at an open day for Medical school. He looked like a guy who enjoys his food so I thought we'd get on fine. We remained good friends and ultimately became housemates at university. Living with Adam was a traumatic joy. He would entertain with his antics, story telling and never failed to produce a good meal. His stories are legendary in every sense. He has grown in size and stature over the years and now it's great to see him settling down, of which I wish them both a lifetime of happiness. To his bride, thank you for taking him off our hands.
